On Filkoe176′s 10th birthday his mom bought him a “realistic” boombox from the Radioshack on Denison ave. in the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. Shortly after applying scotch tape to a Supertramp “Live in Paris” cassette and recording his voice for the first time, he recalls his early age inner dialogue as being “that’s not what my voice really sounds like?” Captivated by what he thought to be the most engaging sound in the universe, the human voice, he began manipulating and altering his pre-pubescent shriek.
His time was also spent flying the friendly skies via T.W.A as an “unaccompanied minor” and enjoying summers with his grandparents on the Mississippi river, running along the Illinois/Iowa border near Hannibal, Missouri. At “Hawks Nest”, a former summer Inn rumored to have temporarily sheltered Samuel Clemins as he wrote Huck Finn, he would take daytime excursions with his late uncle as a guide, exploring the many creeks and streams of the area, looking for Mesquakie arrowheads, crawfish and black snakes.
Now currently residing in the awe inspiring Pacific Northwest city of Seattle he has regressed to his childhood love of nature, the earth and its inhabitants. With a heavy heart for endangered and extinct species, and a shrill vibrato, Filkoe176 prepares to enter the post rap, rat race; hoping only to bring awareness to the world, his peers, and fans.
He would also love to sell thousands of records, tour Africa, and have a video shot by shortfacedbear to be aired on MTV2′s “subterranean”. He also hopes to one day be mentioned in the same breath as Rammelzee, kujo, and Os Gemeos.
Listen as he raps, yodels, and sings into your conscious through his take on poetry meets factoid done abstractly.
